Je Joue MiMi Vibrator Review

Je Joue MiMi Vibrator Review

~I received this product from PrivateKnight for free in exchange for an honest review. This in no way, shape or form has any affect on my opinions on this product.~

It’s so rare for me to add a new toy to the very small collection I have beside my bed. Most toys I’ve tried and tested have either been so meh that I don’t have any feelings towards them, or so horrible that I never want them anywhere near my genitals again. But the Je Joue MiMi earned a place in my bag of favourites, much to my surprise – I really wasn’t expecting a lot from a vibrator that looks so unassuming!

First Impressions:

The Je Joue MiMi is packaged in a a box that looks perfect for gift giving. There is a white sleeve that lists some key features on the MiMi, as well as featuring a picture of the MiMi on the front. Remove the sleeve and you’re left with a very elegant looking box. I love the feathers!

Inside the box is the MiMi laid in a plastic disk shaped insert and inside the compartment is a charger, user manual and a one year warranty card.

The Je Joue MiMi comes in a variety of shades, but mine is in the fuchsia colour. Normally, I’d rant a little over how much I hate pink but there are certain tones I like and fuchsia happens to be one of those tones.  The MiMi is slightly oval shaped, completely rigid and very silky smooth to the touch. There are 5 speeds and 7 patterns – a plus and a minus button for the speeds, and a button in the middle for the patterns.

The Je Joue Mimi is charged via the two magnetic contacts at the bottom of the vibrator. This might not mean a lot to you if you don’t own many sex toys, but because I own a little over 100 sex toys, I’m frequently getting the chargers confused as many of them are black so I never know which is which – but I’m so happy Je Joue have thought about the design of their charger.

The plastic end of the charger isn’t similar to any of the other chargers I have for my toys, and there’s also the little Je Joue heart on the charger so it’s really easy to identify. A red light will blink while the MiMi is being charged, and then there will be a steady light once it has fully charged.

My Experience with the MiMi:

As I said at the start of this review, I wasn’t expecting much from the Je Joue Mimi at all. I just thought it looked too cute to really have much of an effect on me. I was wrong. Now, I have read some other reviews where the user couldn’t orgasm with the Mimi as it wasn’t powerful enough for them, which I can understand. It sometimes fails to make me orgasm because the vibrations are more mid range, and I’m sometimes left wanting more. But the Mimi works beautifully the majority of the time – I think it would appeal to a lot of people as not everyone likes powerful vibes.

The Je MiMi actually provides two types of stimulation – at least that’s how it was for me. With external vibrators, I’ll often just hold the ‘business end’ of the vibe against my clit and/or move it up and down a little. However, because the MiMi’s vibrations carry through most of the vibe itself instead of just being concentrated in one area, I decided to see if the MiMi could give me some broad stimulation.

Now don’t get me wrong – the pinpoint stimulation is great. The vibrations are nice and deep, they penetrate the nerves inside my clit. But it’s sometimes nice to mix it up and have a vibrator not only stimulate my clit, but also stimulate my vulva and my labia. The Mimi works beautifully in that regard, it’s perfect for when I just want to build up to my orgasm and take my time. This is the number one reason why the Mimi is a firm favourite, it’s just so versatile. There are some minor things I don’t like such as having to hold down on the plus/minus buttons to go up or down in speed, and I wish it was just slightly more quiet. But I’m nitpicking here, the positives definitely outweigh the negatives.

As I’ve said in previous reviews, I’m not a fan of patterns in vibrators. The patterns with the Mimi are honestly no different from others I’ve tried, so I’m still not interested in them. But I think if you’re someone who does like patterns, the Mimi has decent ones to offer.

Verdict:

Obviously, I love the Mimi. Versatile, rechargeable, rumbly, and it’s fairly quiet. It’s not the cheapest luxury vibe on the market, but it’s definitely not the most expensive either. Personally, I think it’s worth every penny and you could certainly do much worse. I also think it would be great for someone new to vibes as it doesn’t look intimidating, or someone that wants to purchase their first luxury vibe.
