Vibease Wearable App-Controlled Vibrator Review

~I received this product from Vibease for free in exchange for an honest review. This in no way, shape or form has any affect on my opinions on his product.~

I love my technology, I think apps are fun and can be quite good if they’re made correctly. There’s many app-controlled vibrators out there but for some reason, I didn’t consider the thought of using one. Until the Vibease became my first. App-controlled vibrators haven’t often gone down very well. They’ve been known as unreliable and difficult to use, so that could be why I’ve taken such a long time to even consider trying one out. I finally bit the bullet, so to speak, and emailed Vibease for the chance to review their product. So was my first experience with an app-controlled vibrator a complete flop? Let’s find out!

First Impressions:

Vibease packaging.Vibease packaging again.Inside the box. USB charging lead and user manual.

I had no idea what to expect with the Vibease packaging, I didn’t know what it looked like at all so you can imagine my surprise when my eyes were greeted by a really modern and lovely looking box. Remove the branded white sleeve and you’re greeted by a sort of geometric pattern with lots of lovely colours. Shades of pink on one side, shades of blue-ish green on the other. It’s really very tasteful and honestly, the prettiest packaging I’ve seen for a sex toy. I’ve decided to keep it to store little things, the box is fairly sturdy as well, which is something else I wasn’t expecting. Inside the box the Vibease, made from smooth and rigid silicone, is sat snugly in a foam insert, next to that is a flap that contains a user manual and a USB charging lead. I really love how everything is presented, I’d even go so far to say that it’s perfect for gift giving!

I didn’t get a choice in the colour for the Vibease. I did want purple but when I saw I was being sent a pink one, I didn’t really think too much of it, it’s not the end of the world. But I was seriously not prepared for this shade of pink at all! If there was a Barbie doll created that was able to take a shit, this is the colour her shit would be! I’ve never seen anything so pink in my entire life, it makes my eyes hurt just to look at it for too long. I can handle hot pink, I can even handle that ugly pale pink that so many people seem to love. But this Barbie shit shade of pink just takes the biscuit.

But enough about the colour! The way the Vibease looks is actually quite intriguing. If you lay it facing up or side on, the Vibease kind of looks like a bird with a funny shaped face or with a long beak that points down. If it doesn’t look like that to anyone else then maybe I’m just going crazy? But if the Vibease is laying face down, the tip looks like a flattened head that’s shaped sort of square, very interesting. There are two buttons on the back, one for powering up the Vibease and the other to go through the settings.

My Experience with the Vibease:

To begin with, I’ll talk about how the Vibease feels when using it as a regular clitoral vibrator. I was actually quite surprised at how much I loved using it regularly, the vibrations are nice and rumbly and I find the Vibease really easy to hold. The fact that it’s also completely firm helps a lot, my clit responds best to really firm pressure and the Vibease definitely delivers, the Vibease gives me some wonderful orgasms – the kind that make you feel sleepy afterwards. I also love the hooked tip on the Vibease, it feels so fucking fantastic when it rubs under my clit. I do need the Vibease on the highest setting to be able to orgasm, but this isn’t a bad thing by any means as I don’t feel like I need any more power once I’m on the highest setting. The lower settings I think will suit many people if the highest setting is too powerful for them. I was also impressed with how quiet the Vibease actually is, despite the fact that it’s fairly powerful, it definitely can’t be heard behind a closed door.

The App:

Now for the tricky part of this review, the part I’ve been struggling to write. The app. I don’t really know what to say about it, still.. But I’ll try my best to convey my feelings towards it.

The reason why I wanted to review the Vibease so badly was for the erotic audiobooks. In the past, as an early teenager, I downloaded audiobooks. Illegally. Yes, I’m a bad person, slap my wrist for me. They were always so fucking sexy and sensual, I loved to just masturbate as I listened to the lovely voice of the actor (I always preferred listening to a woman) and every time I just had these amazingly explosive orgasms. But honestly, the audiobooks on the Vibease really aren’t to my taste at all. I was so bummed by this as I thought it would be perfect for me, but it really wasn’t.

Don’t get me wrong, using the Vibease app is as easy as anything. You’re asked to login with via Facebook or to sign up with your email address. Pretty standard. You then have access to some free sounds – I call them sounds because they’re not actually audiobooks. Just simple rain sounds, beach and forest. Which is fine, but this isn’t supposed to be ASMR. There are a lot of audiobooks to choose from, although they’re not all free so some you have to purchase with in store credits. This isn’t really that much of a big deal in my opinion as a lot of the audiobooks are free so there isn’t a limited supply. Plus, you can also sample an audiobook before you purchase it if you’ve decided you want to.

When the Vibease is connected to the app and you’ve started an audiobook, the Vibease will go through pulse 1 and pulse 2 depending on how the storyline is advancing. But you can still control the Vibease yourself if you don’t want the audiobook to control it for you. I think this is great as you can quickly stop things if you live with family/roomates, saves the risk of anything unfortunate happening.

So, why don’t I really like the audiobooks all that much? Well..they’re just so..generic. I mean yes, there are the fantasy ones but they’re more traditional fantasy. Like vampire or shapeshifter. Or generic kinkiness that I find cliche and cringey. There’s also, nothing gay/lesbian. I think that doesn’t make sense at all as we’re not all straight, male or female. I’m a pansexual, cis female. The lack of diversity in the audiobooks makes me quite unhappy.

There is a chat feature in the Vibease, but it’s not for me. I think this might be down to the fact that it isn’t really aimed at someone who’s single. Or maybe it’s just me that isn’t curious enough to try it with a friend? The chat feature is great if you’re wanting to connect with your partner, as it allows your partner to control the Vibease via chat. But like I said, if you’re single and the thought of asking a friend to take the reins, so to speak, doesn’t appeal to you then this feature might be a little lost on you.

Verdict:

Overall, I guess I sort of like the Vibease? Using it as a regular clitoral vibrator is pretty awesome so top marks for that. As an app-controlled vibrator, I kinda dislike it. I really wanted my review on the Vibease to be extremely positive as I was so excited to own my first app-controlled vibrator, but it just wasn’t to be. The audiobooks aren’t my style at all, they make me cringe instead of aroused – and the chat feature is lost on me, because I’m single and I’d prefer not to ask a friend to participate in something like this with me. I do like how you can control the Vibease so much even when it’s connected to the app and I think the app is easy to navigate, but it just doesn’t ‘wow’ me.
