Womanizer W100 and W500 Comparison Review
~I received these products from Womanizer for free in exchange for an honest review. This in no way, shape or form has any affect on my opinions on this product.~
When I first heard of the Womanizer, I actually thought the name was a joke. Like as if someone had nicknamed a sex toy as the ‘womanizer’ because it gave them orgasms, but then they felt used and degraded afterwards. But it wasn’t so! There is actually a sex toy on the market named the Womanizer! I don’t know who’s idea this was, but it was a terrible one. But seriously, don’t let the name put you off. Or their appearances for that matter, because the Womanizers are truly interesting sex toys, and great ones at that.
Since this is a comparison review, I’ll be starting off with the original Womanizer, the W100. Whichever design you choose, your box will match that so the outer box for my Womanizer is black with the tattoo design. Now this is something I’ve rarely seen with a luxury toy, but the Womanizer W100 is inside a hard shell case (mine is black) for storage. I’m probably in the minority here but I would have preferred a storage bag as cases take up unnecessary space in my opinion. Inside the case, you get your Womanizer, a spare silicone nozzle (they call it a treatment head for some reason), user manual, USB lead and an EU adaptor.
The original Womanizer is definitely ugly looking in pictures, but in the flesh it looks slightly better, but only slightly. It literally looks like something your GP sticks in your ear to check for infections. Not only that, but the design choices are foul.
Black with animal print (of course), magenta with another animal print, a very ugly shade of pink with a crocodile skin pattern, turquoise with another crocodile skin pattern, red with a rose pattern that doesn’t look all that bad but to me it reminds me of old ladies. And lastly, the least offensive looking of all, black with a tattoo design. It reminds me of those stick on tattoos but this design was the one I was 50% attracted to.
But the designs all have one thing in common. A very tacky looking, plastic gem for the speeds. It sounds fucking terrible, doesn’t it? I’ve no idea why the design choices for the original Womanizer were so poor, but at least they definitely improved with the W500.
The W500 comes in a lovely box, with the skull design and W500 featured on the front. It’s not discreet but I think it’s lovely all the same. The top half of the box slides off and inside you’ll find your W500 in its foam insert. Lift up the foam and you’ll find a spare, silicone ‘treatment head’, user manual, USB lead and an EU adaptor.
Your design choices for the W500 are black with an animal print, lavender and lace, white and chrome, mint and lace, magenta and lace, red with the rose pattern but it looks more toned down this time. And lastly, wait for it. Black with tattoo. But guess what. Skulls! Fucking skulls! If that doesn’t fit me to a tee, then I don’t know what does!
The W500 still resembles an ear thermometer, but good news! Remember that ugly fucking, plastic gem that the W100 has? Well that has been toned down a lot for the W500. There’s now a very small crystal for the on/off button and there’s a little control panel for the speeds. Much better.
My Experience with the Womanizers:
I had heard a lot of women just rave about the Womanizer in general, but I really didn’t expect it to work so well for me. I like my sex toys to have insane vibration strength and I mostly like pinpoint stimulation so when I tried out the Womanizers, I was full expecting my clitoris to reject them instantly. But that’s definitely not what happened.
Let’s get one thing clear first. The Womanizer doesn’t actually vibrate, it creates a gentle sucking sensation on the clitoris and I can truthfully say that I’ve never experienced anything like it before. I really didn’t know what to expect at all, I thought it might feel like a really tight seal or like an over enthusiastic lover who doesn’t know too much about oral and just goes straight into it by sucking hard on the clit. I was wrong on both assumptions.
It’s not a tight seal, if anything the nozzle feels like it’s not really touching my clit at all. I first just placed the nozzle over my clit and turned the Womanizer onto its first setting, and laid back. I know I said it doesn’t vibrate as such, but it sort of feels like vibration around the outside of the nozzle, but what my clit felt was more of a very small tongue lapping at me. It’s quite a strange sensation and hard to describe but that’s probably the most accurate description I can give you.
I did mention that it came with a spare nozzle, both nozzles are different sizes. I tried both of them and I have to say that it changes my experience with the W100 quite drastically. The larger nozzle provides more broad stimulation, which unfortunately did nothing for my clit, I think my clit can’t really feel any of the suction because the sensation is more around my clitoral hood, than my actual clit.
The smaller nozzle is so much better for me personally, it provides more direct contact to my clit and I can focus the head of the Womanizer on specific areas of my clit a lot easier with the smaller nozzle.
There are six levels of intensity and I think they’re all quite nice, but not really for me. The W100 makes my clit feel extremely sensitive and I do squirm around on my bed quite a lot, but I find it just not strong enough to make me orgasm. I do get close to the edge, but I just can’t quite get there. Don’t get me wrong, I really like the original Womanizer, I just wish it was a tad stronger because then I think I’d love it.
There are some things I don’t like about the original Womanizer though. The noise, cold air and the gemstone button. Oh and that slurping sound, it’s really fucking creepy and it makes me cringe. When the nozzle isn’t placed on my clit, the W100 just emits this really loud noise, like a motor trying to start. I just find it a little odd how the original Womanizer is more on the ‘whisper quiet’ side of things when it’s on my clit, but loud as anything when it’s not.
The gemstone button seems like a stupid choice for increasing the intensity. There’s no up or down button, just this singular button so I find it annoying to have to keep pressing it to reach maximum and then having to click it a few more times to go back down. A plus and a minus would have really been great for the original Womanizer.
Cold air. Yeah, it blows cold air onto my clit when it’s not on my clit. It’s really weird and I’m not really sure why but it’s something I can overlook. Slurping sound.. Yeah if you’ve ever seen Teletubbies, imagine that freaky hoover and that’s exactly what the Womanizer W100 sounds like sometimes. It’s off putting but I’ve learnt to ignore it.. But flaws aside, I do really like the original Womanizer and I think it’s a great toy!
The improved version of the Womanizer is way more up my street, it has two added intensity levels which is the extra power I wanted in the original Womanizer so I’m glad they added that in the W500. It also has a little control panel with a plus and a minus, exactly what I think should have been on the original Womanizer so I’m extremely happy with this decision.
The W500 is honestly just amazing in my opinion, it still provides the same stimulation as the original but I feel it’s a lot more intense. The improved Womanizer has a spare nozzle like the original Womanizer and I found it very interesting to learn that I prefer the bigger one to the smaller one with the W500.
The smaller nozzle makes the suction way too intense for my clit and I can barely reach maximum intensity with the smaller nozzle, it borders on painful stimulation. But the larger nozzle works perfectly for me, I can reach maximum intensity very easily and my clit just loves the suction. I think you can guess that I orgasm with the W500. And it’s every single time. My orgasms with the W500 are just so strong and they always hit me like a ton of bricks, it’s fucking amazing to be perfectly honest with you!
There’s also one other thing that surprised me. The W500 can hold charge, for days. Literally just fucking days on end and it’s still kickin’..or suckin’..whatever.. I’ve never experienced this with a toy before, it’s like the terminator of sex toys, it just won’t die. Well, not unless you’re always using it. Innocently whistling right now.
The only thing I would say I don’t like about the W500 is that it’s not as easy to use as the original. The W500 is a lot more compact so holding it can be a little awkward and I think if you have hand and wrist issues, the improved Womanizer might be difficult to use.
Aside from that, the W500 still has the same flaws as the original Womanizer but I fucking love the W500 so much that I really don’t care.
I like both Womanizers, but my heart belongs to the W500 as I’m sure you’ve figured out. A lot of women have said they can reach orgasm with the Womanizers in under a minute or two minutes, but unfortunately that’s not what I’ve experienced. I still take a while to orgasm in general nowadays, but with the W500 it’s often 15 minutes or so, which is a vast improvement for me so I’m not really complaining.
I think if you’re more on the sensitive side, then the original Womanizer would probably suit you better as it’s not as powerful and feels a little more gentle. But if you’re like me and you need your power, then go with the W500 as it has more power and overall feels more intense.
The Womanizers do have their flaws like all toys do if you think hard enough, but they’re easily overlooked in my opinion because these two innovative toys are just fabulous! It’s true that the original Womanizer doesn’t get much attention from me, but the W500 is always beside my bed, I’d literally cry my fucking eyes out if I lost it or it broke.
