Tom of Finland 5 Speed Silicone Vibrator Review

~I recieved this product from Meo.de for free in exchange for an honest review. This in no way, shape or form has any affect on my opinions on this product.~

When I recieved my first ever sample parcel to review from MEO, I was shocked by how generous they were. It contained two bottles of lube, a pack of five different lubes and this. The Tom of Finland 5 speed vibrator. Prior to getting the package from MEO, I’d never even heard of the Tom of Finland brand so I was curious to say the least.

First Impressions:

This is the first time I’ve ever had a vibrator that has packaging with gay male artwork on it. I didn’t expect that at all, and I was a little surprised but I wasn’t put off by it, even though I know some people might be. I thought it was sexy, well made and not overly sleazy by any means.  The artwork was actually created by a company named XR Brands, I’m definitley in love with it, being a lover of gay erotica/artwork myself. Even my guy friend said it’s pretty different, but in a cool way. You also get your own official collector print of the artwork. How cool is that?!

So how does the Tom of Finland vibrator look? Intense and slightly ‘beastly’ in my opinion. I know, I’ve taken a larger toy than this one, but it just looks bigger to me. Maybe it’s because of the ridges? I don’t really know. But what I do know, is that I was extremely excited to stuff it into my vag.

It measures at 9.5 inches overall, 8 inches being insertable and it’s two inches wide (which I think is about 6 inches in circumference). So it is fairly girthy, especially when you factor the texture!

The Tom of Finland vibrator sports a lovely bulbous head, four ridges (or ribs) along the shaft, and a silver coloured band (ABS plastic) around the base. I know I always say this about silicone toys, but this vibrator seriously has lovely fucking silicone! It’s incredibly soft and smooth. It just makes me incredibly happy to have a toy with silicone so soft that when I’m not stuffing my vag with it, I want to be stroking it. I know, I’m an odd person.

There’s not a whole lot of flexibility or squish with the Tom of Finland vibrator, it only bends very slightly at the tip and a little at the shaft. The amount of firmness going on with this vibrator is great because of the texture, so don’t doubt that the ridges won’t make an impact on you.

This vibrator is operated by a singular button at the base, all you need to do to operate it, is screw the cap off and pop two AA batteries inside.

My Experience with the Tom of Finland Vibrator:

I’m going to name this vibrator, The Marshmallow Maker. Why? Because it transforms me into a gooey mess. Every time. But it’s not all melty marshmallow fun with this toy. It has both good points and bad points as a vibrator, as well as dildo.

When I first inserted the Tom of Finland vibrator dildo, it felt a bit uncomfortable. Like the head was just hooking around my pubic bone to begin with, and it felt really cramped down there. I’d advise you not to insert this toy inside your vag (if you’re a female reading this), if you haven’t had any warm-up prior to insertion. This toy feels ridiculously difficult to insert if I’m not really warmed up. It takes a lot of effort to just slide it inside my vag, and once it’s in, it pokes me a little. Although funnily enough, it doesn’t actually cause me pain. Just some slight discomfort because of the head having a tendency to hook around my pubic bone, but aside from that, there’s nothing wrong with using it as a dildo.

Once I’m well and truly aroused, the Tom of Finland vibrator dildo glides in and out of my vag with complete ease. It feels absolutely delicious with those ridges, I can’t stress how much I love using this toy as a dildo, I really can’t. The ridges are really intense though, so maybe be wary of that if you’re considering owning this toy.

Sometimes when I’m thrusting manically with it, I feel as if I can’t quite handle the intense feeling because it’s honestly insane. But when thrusting with it gently, it’s more manageable for me, I can stop being forced to hang my tongue outside of my mouth like a deranged mental patient. It sounds like I’m complaining about being reduced to a drooling, quivering mess, but I’m not. I just think that I have to be in a specific mood to crave very intense sensations from the texture.

Either way, if I thrust gently or roughly, the ridges massage around my vaginal opening, along my vaginal walls, and my G-spot. Even the head pounds my G-spot into submission! Oh man, I’m craving the Marshmallow Maker now. Shall I just get to the negatives I have on it as a vibrator before I give into temptation?

To be honest, I had such high hopes for this toy as a vibrator because it exceeded my expectations as a dildo. But I was pretty disappointed in the vibrations. If you can even call them that. There’s two speeds, and three patterns. I fucking loathe patterns because they always feels so robotic and boring, they also are never powerful enough to get me off. Which is why I always get angry whenever a vibrator has more patterns than it does speeds. The Tom of Finland vibrator is really no exception here.

The patterns are extremely boring and nothing new. The vibrations are really buzzy and they don’t penetrate the nerves of my clitoris or G-spot at all. First couple of tries on my clit with the vibrations were just really shitty experiences. I could barely feel that the vibrator was even on! It’s like all the vibrations were in the base of the toy and my clit recognised a slight feeling from the tip, but it was confused as to where the vibrations were coming from. My ears were getting more attention from this vibrator from all the noise it was making!

I might be being a little harsh here because once I inserted the Tom of Finland vibrator, it wasn’t all bad. The first speed creates a light tickling sensation in my vag, that travels down through to my bum, which I really enjoyed and I thought it made masturbating with a clit vibe a little more interesting than usual. But I’m still confused as to why the first speed feels enjoyable once inserted, but feels like nothing on my clit. It’s also really quiet on the first speed, I could barely hear it underneath my duvet.

The second speed is horrible. Nope, that’s not being harsh either. That’s just the complete truth. It’s a lot different to the first speed. The second speed is very noisy, very buzzy and the vibrations don’t create any sensation whatsoever. They’re just dull and they don’t stimulate any of my nerves.

I thrusted with the Tom of Finland vibrator, trying out both speeds while thrusting. And it didn’t add to anything. I kind of felt like my attentions were more on the vibrations, rather than the ridges because I was trying to feel something, just something more than a tickling sensation on the first speed. But nada. Nothing was different at all. Oh well. I love dildos so at least the Marshmallow Maker has that going for it.

Verdict:

Well, I think it’s painly obvious that I hate this toy as a vibrator. The vibrations are seriously weak, buzzy and extremely boring when coming into contact with my clit. I do enjoy the tickling sensation that the first speed provides, but that’s nowhere near enough for me to orgasm and it’s not enough for me to want to use it as a vibrator either.

On the other hand, I think this toy is amazing as a dildo. It’s firm and it has glorious ridges that do wonders for my vag, hence my reasoning behind calling it the Marshmallow Maker. To be honest, I’m not really that disappointed from the fact that the vibrations suck because I’m more a dildo and clit vibe girl, so I love this toy for being amazing as a dildo.

If you’re someone who wants a strong vibrator, then this is really not one I can recommend. I can’t even recommend it to someone who prefers weak vibrations because they’re so surface level that anyone deserves something rumbly and a whole lot better than this vibrator.

On the other hand, if you want to use this toy as a dildo, I couldn’t be happier to recommend it! It’s definitely a fun one to use and I’ve named it the Marshmallow Maker for good reason..
